What is the difference between standard PVC-U, PVC-C, and PVC-M pipes?

PVC-U (Unplasticized PVC): The most common standard PVC pipe used for drinking water, drainage, and cable conduits due to its rigidity and chemical resistance.

PVC-C (Chlorinated PVC): Features higher chlorine content, making it highly resistant to elevated temperatures and ideal for hot water piping and industrial chemical applications.

PVC-M (Modified PVC): Impact-modified PVC that incorporates additives to enhance toughness and resistance to cracking, making it suitable for high-pressure municipal water networks.

What components are included in a standard turnkey PVC pipe line?

A complete automated MIDTECH line typically includes: Spring or Vacuum Powder Feeder with a Gravimetric Dosing System. Conical Twin-Screw Extruder with an automated control cabinet. PVC Pipe Extrusion Die Head (including sizing sleeves/bushings). Stainless Steel Vacuum Calibration Tank. Stainless Steel Spray Cooling Tank(s) (quantity depends on pipe size and line speed). Can one extrusion line produce all pipe sizes from small to large?

No single line can efficiently cover the entire range from 16mm-800mm because the extruder throughput and downstream machine sizes must match the pipe dimensions. However, our lines offer excellent modular flexibility. For example, our MT-PVC 250 line can easily cover all major pipe sizes from 63mm up to 250mm by simply swapping out the die tooling and calibration sleeves, which takes minimal time.
